Kefa

Kefa has been a partb of the Croatian Christian music scene for almost thirty years and during that time it influenced many other Christian musicians. From the beginning the band primarily participates in liturgy and give their testimony of faith through the music they play.

Kefa has been a partb of the Croatian Christian music scene for almost thirty years and during that time it influenced many other Christian musicians. From the beginning the band primarily participates in liturgy and give their testimony of faith through the music they play.

It all started during the Lent of 1983 in the St. Peter's parish church in Zagreb. The founder of Kefa was a parish priest assistant Andrija Kišiček who is a canon priest today. Soon after Emilio Kutleša joined the band and has directed it until today.

Throughout these thirty years many outstanding musicians contributed to the music and spiritual legacy of Kefa.

Kefa has performed at a number of church events both in Croatia and abroad. They performed and won several awards at the Christian music festivals: Uskrs fest (performances since 1984, many awards including the first prize for their songs Radost postojanja/Joy of existing in 1985 and Ljubav/Love in 1996; in 1990 and 2002 they were runner ups. In 1999 they won at Frama fest in Sarajevo with their song Mir i dobro/Peace and all Good.

They have been performing at the Christian music festivals such as Marija fest (Molve) and Bono fest (Vukovar) as well as at other music events in Croatia and abroad.

Kefa released five albums: Radost postojanja/Joy of existing (1985), Idi i reci/Go and tell them (1987), Kruh/Bread (1993), Put ljubavi/Path of love (2003) and Hvalospjev ljubavi/Hymn to Love (Laudato, 2006).

Mirta Kudrna, Nela Rašan, Ana Zadro, Ksenija Jelečanin, Gordana Toplak, Sanja Ferenčić, Željka Devaj, Krešimir Buntak, Božidar Pandurić, Dinko Leović, Tomislav Meštrović, Emilio Kutleša.; Anita Fiolić, Ivo Markulin, Marijan Kudrna, Zoran Perić, Martina Csiffary, Jasna Bradić, Mladen Ferenčić, Zrinka Valdin, Silvija Štajcer Šaban, Anita Valjak, Renata Penezić, Kristijan Zorjan Kiki, Vlado Volenec, Martina Kukec Jerković, Ivana Čosić, Martina Pulišelić, Iva Smiljanić, Ranko Smiljanić, Gordana Krstić, Katarina Mihaljević, Marija Klajić, Ines Kovač, Adrian Vinković Rangel.

There are also many other musicians who contributed to the sound of Kefa, to name a few: Anđelko Krpan (violin); Martina Radović (violoncello); Andrea Halužan (viola); Martin Jordan (violoncello); Krešimir Bratković (violin);  Slavko Nedić; Goran Kanceljak; Goran Kovačić (keyboard) and Robert Vrbančić (bass guitar).
