Risus is a vocal-instrumental band from the cathedral parish of St. Therese of Avila in Požega. Risus means laughter in Latin, which is the best word descibing this group of young people who praises the Lord with singing. When the letter “R“ is left out, you get the name of Jesus (Isus, in Croatian).

Risus was founded in 2006 and directed by their religion teachers, the brothers Robert and Igor Begić; today their role is taken by Željko Bošković with the assistance of Bruna Oberan.

The young choir singers, mostly high school students and those preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, meet three times a week to rehearse songs for Sunday evening Mass. They also serve as the adoration music ministry, sing at charity events, perform their annual Christmas concert, prepare a prayer vigil in the evening before the feast day of the parish patron saint, participate in occasional concerts in the parish and in other places.

Risus performs popular Christian music as well as their original Christian songs (Uskrs fest, 2012).
